We wanted an all-in-one venue, and somewhere that didn’t restrict you to just two or three rooms. Being able to use the whole house as we wished was such a big selling point. It meant we could tailor the atmosphere we wanted to create on our day to a T, making it really unique to us and our personalities. Being able to have our whippet, Arlo, involved in the day made such a big difference to us as well. We couldn’t imagine him not being there so the option to include him made it really special.
But honestly the thing that ultimately helped make our decision was the people. After meeting the staff at Iscoyd at one of your open days, we knew we couldn’t be in safer hands. This applies to Charlotte so so much, she was an absolute dream to work with and made the potentially stressful planning of our wedding a breeze! The whippet statues in the garden might have helped too…
Probably dancing for about five hours straight! There were so many amazing little pockets of our day that were unforgettable, but I think the pure joy and carefree nature of dancing with all of your family and friends is truly special, and it’s the one thing we remember most fondly out of the whole day.
We didn’t really go for a theme so much. We had a colour palette which was soft greens, apricots and blues and we did have hints of animals in our table plans. But apart from that, we wanted to stay quite low key with the decorations as the house was so beautiful we wanted that to shine through the most!
I wore the dress of my dreams, simple and elegant. It was designed by the wonderful ladies at Farnham bridal boutique, and I had a hand embroidered cape to put on over the top for the evening, which really transformed my entire outfit. And I can’t forget my shoes, white pointed toe sling backs with a fringe of white ostrich feathers. I would walk around the room punching my foot out from beneath my dress and shout “Bam!”
Sam and his best man wore mix matched three piece suits in a combination of green and oatmeal with blue ties, they basically wore our entire colour palette and looked great!
This was the magical work of our amazing friend Andrea. I showed her some inspiration pics and the types of colours I wanted and she took it and ran, smashing it absolutely out of the park. She picked, ordered and arranged all of the flowers and honestly they couldn’t have been more perfect. I know she was so anxious about my bouquet in case I didn’t like it but she is crazy for thinking I wouldn’t do anything except fall in love with it!
Claire Penn. The incredible Claire Penn. There are so many reasons why we chose her, one being her experience working at Iscoyd Park. It was important to us that we had someone familiar with the venue, to know all the best spots for pictures, tried and tested!
But the main reason we chose Claire was for her personality. We didn’t want some stiff, official photographer that we couldn’t relax around. Claire has the perfect aura of being an amazing professional without making it feel professional in the slightest; in a good way! We were completely at ease around her and trusted her direction with every single shot.
As you can probably tell from my previous answer, our evening entertainment was top tier. We were lucky enough to land Jacob and Laurie from Jonny Ross. We met them at one of your open days and we were so happy when they got assigned to us for our Sax & DJ package.
They were incredible.
It is YOUR day. Do what you want, when you want and everything else will fall into place. This is the one day of your life when you don’t have to think about anyone else. They are all there to celebrate and show their love for you, so being happy and relaxed will create the most amazing atmosphere for everybody.
