We’d visited four venues and we hadn’t yet experienced that ‘it’s the one’ earth-shattering revelation we’d hoped for. I was scouring the internet and came across Iscoyd and it had everything we needed! We booked a show round and instantly fell in love.
There were three important factors for us when it came to picking our wedding venue. Firstly ensuring there was enough accommodation on site so all our friends and family could stay. Secondly we were really keen for two separate rooms for the dance floor and wedding breakfast; I’ve been to a lot of weddings where you’re waiting around for the changeover and really didn’t want this. Lastly it was paramount we had exclusive of our venue ensuring it was ours for the weekend!
The beautiful cottage for the bridal party the night before was also a huge bonus – it was so special to spend the night in the grounds. Iscoyd really delivered in all aspects for us, not to mention how brilliant and welcoming all the team were. We love that we can visit the venue in years to come, celebrating anniversaries, with the venue hosting Sunday lunches, afternoon teas and overnight stays!
I really wanted our day to be an all-day party, with entertainment from start to finish. I booked a band to perform during our wedding breakfast and it was definitely a highlight for us. The wonderful Twenty One Events performed as our guests entered the room, and then really got the party started once guests had finished their mains.
Another highlight was the ceremony. Despite being flooded with weather warnings the night before our wedding, the sun made an appearance meaning we could get married in Iscoyd’s beautiful grounds. We loved the moment after our ceremony where it was just the two of us enjoying a glass of champagne together. We couldn’t believe how lucky we were that the day was going just as we’d planned.
We deliberately kept the theme neutral and clean. I originally wanted whites and greens, but we added a champagne into the flowers to complement the bridesmaids. The venue is so beautiful we didn’t need a lot of décor.
I actually changed my dress 3 weeks before the big day! I originally had an Alena Leena, which was beautiful, but it just never felt right.
I went back to the first dress I ever tried on which was a Veni Infantino for Ronald Joyce. I paired it with the veil I originally had custom made which went perfectly with the new dress, Loeffler Randal shoes, earrings from Lily & Roo and a beautiful hair clip by Megan Therese Couture.
The groomsmen suits were a navy three-piece from Peter Posh, and the bridesmaids were in a satin champagne dress from Six Stories.
I worked with the wonderful Edwina Lowe, and decided on classic and elegant florals. Everything was beautiful, especially the 8ft hanging installation with trailing foliage, I decided to have a central top table, which this sat above and made a real central focus of the room.
We had the wonderful Lucy G Jenkins as our photographer, and she’s the loveliest lady. I really wasn’t sure what I was looking for in a photographer other than we wanted a much more candid style than lots of posed photos. I came across Lucy and loved her style of imagery, using a lot more natural colourings than the artsy style that’s quite popular at the moment – Lucy captured the day perfectly!
Our videographer was John Taylor who was also lovely and produces the most incredible videos. Both Lucy and John blended into the wedding so well, you barely knew they were there!
The band performing after our main course really got the party going which led nicely into our evening entertainment. We booked a DJ, sax and bongos trio; it’s safe to say the dance floor was full all night!
It’s a cliché, but it really is the best day of your life. Enjoy every minute, even in the lead up as it goes so quickly and take it all in. The team at Iscoyd really put your mind at ease on the day (big thanks to Kate our lovely wedding co-ordinator) I had no worries and managed to just enjoy it from start to finish.
