We pride ourselves on the fact that Iscoyd is a private house and not a hotel. As such we want you to feel at home when you hold your special event here. Each and every space has been planned with care and love and has been uniquely designed to look good and work hard, from the elegant Georgian interior of the main house to the rustic Coach House.
Each wedding, party or company retreat we host is an entirely bespoke event. We don’t do packages or formulas but work with you to help create the day and night you have been dreaming of. This philosophy filters down all the way through to the smallest of finishing touches which subconsciously have a huge impact on both your own and your guests’ perceptions of your event.
From the scented candles, to the plush beds in one of our eighteen bedrooms, everything has been meticulously planned to give you the full Iscoyd experience. One of these special details, which you may not be aware of, includes the house flower arrangements which are always incorporated into the venue hire of the house and gardens.
We are incredibly lucky to be able to boast an in-house florist as part of our innovative Iscoyd team. Charlie was originally a member of the events team helping to organise and plan weddings, private parties and corporate events before side-stepping into a new role as that of resident florist. Her events experience means that she knows the house intimately, inside and out, whatever the season. Charlie’s familiarity means she creates the most beautiful floral arrangements that complement each of the house’s individual spaces. In fact all of the images you see in this blog post are Charlie’s creations.
So what flowers are actually included in the hire of Iscoyd for your event? We will always provide beautiful floral displays in the hallway of the main house and in the drawing rooms on the lower levels. Upstairs we’ll add more flowers to the landings, in the Library, the Bridal Suite and usually we’ll place fresh flowers or plants in bedrooms too.
If you have decided to stay in the Iscoyd Cottage the night before your wedding then we will ensure that there are fresh blooms in here too.
Absolutely we can! If you’re intending to incorporate flowers in the spaces where you have your ceremony and your wedding breakfast then we can work with you and your budget to develop a proposal for flowering these spaces as well. Alternatively you are more than welcome to enlist the services of an external florist to dress your ceremony and reception areas. We are always more than happy to work with suppliers to help you create the vision you’re dreaming of for your big day and can even recommend some talented folk if you’re unsure where to start looking.
As you can see from the wonderful images included in this post, Charlie is adept at creating arrangements which reflect both the colours found within Iscoyd’s interiors but which also pay homage to the season in which the event is taking place. Sustainability is so incredibly important to us and we try wherever possible to reduce our impact on the environment especially when we work in such a transitory industry.
Foraging in the Iscoyd grounds for blooms and foliage means that we’re less likely to import flowers from abroad. We also revel in taking inspiration from the gardens and wider estate grounds which play a huge role in the creation of Iscoyd’s flowers season by season. Expect the unexpected when it comes to Iscoyd flowers and we look forward to sharing this with you too.
Do let us know if you have any questions and of course what your favourite flowers/seasons are; we’re always keen to hear what you think.
