We visited Iscoyd two years before we even got married; eager beavers I know! Initially we were planning to get married abroad as we wanted an Italian style feel to the wedding. However due to family logistics and having relatives that were unlikely to be able to travel we looked a little closer to home! I came across Iscoyd on Bridebook and instantly had a good feeling. I messaged the venue straight away to see if we could have a private visit. It was a beautiful sunny day when we visited and the house was incredible and for this reason we fell in love instantly.
The gardens eventually sealed the deal and we were sold! We went back many times to Iscoyd and attended several open days and each time we just fell in love all over again. Everyone was so friendly, from start to finish we cannot fault the team at Iscoyd, they are amazing and so welcoming, not to mention that the food was world class!
Gsosh this is a really hard question to choose one specific thing! Apart from getting married to Tom, I would say it was between getting ready with my bridesmaids in the morning or the evening event! I don’t think I have smiled as much as I did that day. By the end of the night, we were the last two up ensconced in the library talking about what a magical day we had.
We also had a pre-wedding party the night before as the cottage which was amazing and really got the party started for the wedding! We had the incredible Elissa Baker as our Master of Ceremonies, who made sure the whole day ran smoothly – we knew were in safe hands with her!
Our wedding theme was very classic. I didn’t want lots of colour but chose a powder blue palette with dashes of pale pink to try and match with my bouquet.
My dress was Enzonai and was from the Harrogate Bridal Lounge. I added some custom lace elements to the dress to make it extra special. The girls at Harrogate Bridal Lounge were so amazing in helping me find my perfect dress for the day. My shoes were from Monsoon and my gorgeous earrings were custom made from a fantastic jeweller in Skipton called Victoria Coleman.
The mens’ suits were from Whitfield and Ward a fantastic store, who made the men feel their best and helped find Tom his perfect tuxedo. I really wanted my bridesmaids to feel comfortable all day so I picked dresses from Coast in a powder blue hue with a gorgeous cowl style back. Our gorgeous flower girl Maisie wore a very cute dress from Next!
My flowers were really important to me on the day. I chose Flossie Weddings to create them who had been recommended to us by friends. We wanted to keep it simple and elegant but were keen to include some of my favourite flowers – roses. We also honoured my Scottish grandparents by having thistles included as well.
Flossie styled our wedding as well and we couldn’t recommend them more. Flossie Weddings brought a classic feel to the day with small bud vases, candles and a gorgeous staircase arrangement. Adding antique candles from The Event Edit finished off our vision. My mum handmade all of our wedding signs which were both beautiful and simultaneously added a personal touch to our decor. Iscoyd is such a gorgeous venue that you can dress it up or down as much as you like to suit your vision for your day.
Lauren Juliette – only one word can describe her… incredible. We found Lauren on Instagram and she was everything we were looking for. She made us feel at ease and comfortable and she was able to keep us calm throughout the day!
I also must mention our fantastic videographer Amy Louise who again was just out of this world!! Again we found Amy on Instagram and instantly connected on our initial conversation. We knew she was the one to help capture our day perfectly.
We were honestly blown away by both ladies and the pictures and video are incredible!
For our evening entertainment we had the incredible JC and The Two Steps who we could not fault! They played two sets and also played an acoustic version of our first dance. We also had a Pineapple Photo Booth which was a huge hit with our guests.
Our incredible cake was made by Helen at Fairy Dust Cakes – it was delicious and everything we wanted!
The weather was sunny, hot and blue skies all day so we were able to make use of the outdoor area way into the evening. We also put on some smores along with our evening foods. It was the dream party!
I would say my one tip is to try and enjoy the whole process and yes this includes even the planning! Make time to celebrate small milestones along the way and on the day make sure you take some time amongst all the hustle and excitement for you two to soak it all in.
