What made you choose Iscoyd Park for your wedding venue?
We have friends and family all over the UK so we knew majority of people would have to travel wherever we had the wedding. Therefore we just wanted to find somewhere we both loved, and that we could have the ceremony and reception at the same location so there was no travelling during the day. My sister actually found Iscoyd on instagram, and we thought it looked gorgeous. We were then absolutely sold when we came and met Charlie who showed us round!
What was your favourite part of your wedding day?
This is a really difficult one, as we had massive smiles on our faces / were laughing the entire day. I would say the wedding breakfast was our absolute favourite as we and our guests were all up dancing before we’d even finished our main courses!
Tell us a little bit about your wedding theme.
There wasn’t really a theme for the day; we knew we wanted to get married in winter so as to not worry about the weather and also loved the idea of candles throughout the day. I had one photo of a bouquet of white orchids which I thought was gorgeous, and everything else came together from that.
The Outfits; Who did you wear? What did your bridal party wear?
My wedding dress was from a local wedding shop to me and the brand was
Essense of Australia. I had quite a lot of alteration to get it exactly how I wanted it. The beading was absolutely stunning.
I wanted my bridesmaids to wear white, so they had quite simple dresses from
Chi Chi London which suited them all so well.
The groomsmen suits were a navy tweed to fit with the season, and were from
Peter Posh.
The Flowers; Tell us some more about your blooms.
Oh my god, my flowers. Incredible. They were put together by Mat from
Red Floral architecture. I showed him the photo of the bouquet of orchids and let him work his magic on the rest. I’ve never seen so many flowers and he had ‘folded’ roses which looked amazing. My bouquet was the biggest bunch of flowers I’ve ever seen in my life!
The Photography; Who were your photographers and why did you choose them?
I had originally booked a photographer who had done a lot of work at Iscoyd and I was very excited about. Unfortunately we had to postpone our wedding by 12 months due to the Covid pandemic and they weren’t available on our new date. So I started the search again and came across Courtney Marie Photography (again on instagram!) and thought her style looked really unique. Initially she turned me down as she was going to have to weddings back to back, but I managed to convince her and thank goodness I did! She was so much fun on the day too!
The Evening; Give us the lowdown on entertainment.
Our entertainment was a pianist called
Michael G Moore. I think people thought it was going to be a bit lame when I told them it was a pianist for the evening, but he is absolutely unreal. Any song from any era and any genre he can play off the bat and he got everyone dancing before we’d even finished dinner. At least two couples have booked him since our wedding and we saw him at our friends‘ wedding.
Words of Wedding Wisdom?
It sounds very cliche, but just enjoy the day! Don’t sweat the small stuff. No one will know if something hasn’t happened the way you planned it. I think we were actually lucky in some respects that our wedding was postponed due to the Covid lockdowns because then when it did eventually happen, we were so relieved that nothing else mattered and all our guests acted like it was the first party they’d been too. Such a fun day from start to finish!!
