They had us as soon as we turned the corner in to the drive for Iscoyd. This is a place with wow factor that outclassed every other venue we visited. We loved the stylish interiors, stunning gardens and passion for quality.
Many of our guests travelled quite far so the lovely accommodation on site was a must for us, coupled with the fact it’s a stone’s throw from James’ parents’ home in Wrexham.
Before : The night before at Iscoyd Cottage with my girls in the hot tub, practicing our aisle walk and drinking bubbles.
During : The people, the colours, the vibes, the weather, the food 🔥 and the service from the Iscoyd Park team (special shout out to our wedding manager, Kate, and Leah on the hospitality team who really looked after us).
After : Breakfast in the Coach House swapping memories with our overnight guests and sending everyone off with gorgeous flowers.
Bright, fun colours was the scheme for the day which was brought to life through my incredible flowers, bridesmaid dresses and confetti.
We wanted to make an impact in the marquee as it’s such a blank canvas. We worked with Lianne at the Blonde Army to create a layout and impactful design that we’d never seen before at Iscoyd Park and had gorgeous, personal stationary from Maple and Rae.
We also brought in some personal touches like cake made by James’ mum and a sweet station by his sister. We also incorporated wedding newspapers and pork batches (baps, cobs, rolls HA).
My dress was by Jesus Peiro via the Bridal Boutique Warwickshire. James and his grooms party wore suits from Groom in Chester. My nine bridesmaids all selected their own dresses in a sunset colour palette – reds, oranges and pinks. Plenty of people said I was crazy for not controlling exactly what they wore but I wanted to celebrate my girls as the individuals they are – and they all looked incredible (together and as individuals).
We are obsessed with our flowers from the day. They were created by Anna at Mary Mary Florals. She created wonderful bright arrangements for the bridal party, ceremony and marquee but everyone at the wedding was talking about the cloud which was hanging at the centre of our wedding breakfast. It was fully of bright blooms and tulle – we organised all of our tables to make it the star. I gave Anna very little steer and what she created was a masterpiece, in our eyes.
Our guests loved the flowers and loved taking them the next morning to brighten up their home. Lovely!
Our photographer was Harry Michael, who was an absolute pro all day and made up feel so at ease. We chose him as his laidback personality and bright, warm images really stood out in the clutter of Instagram.
Lee at Shutterbox Films was our videographer. We opted for a mix of film and digital video. His films really stood out as relaxed, fun and really capturing the moment – exactly what we were looking for.
Despite me heckling them all day about my own awkwardness and asking them what they needed to “document” next, their talent and professionalism were second to none.
Soul Revolver were our band in the evening. They are so talented! James’ sister had seen them perform at a local festival and had been blown away. She had also made us personalised glow sticks which really encouraged everyone to get involved on the dance floor.
From the heart – celebrate and enjoy everything about the process and being able to spend time with all of your favourite people. You never get these moments back.
From the head – If you’re thinking about it, book the planner, coordinator or stylist. Planning a wedding is overwhelming and you can either do it the hard way, or the enjoyable way! Best thing we did was reaching out to the Blonde Army team on a whim.
