We know, we know! It’s only September but given that our festive Afternoon Tea sold out in minutes, we’re assuming that the Christmas prep may have already commenced with some of you. We’ve taken the liberty then of writing this post to give you some wonderful gift inspiration for the nearest and dearest in your lives.
For those of you not already aware, we have a wonderful online shop which can be found on our website or by following this link. After receiving multiple requests from visitors to the house for our Iscoyd products such as our House Champagne and our coveted aprons, we came to the conclusion it was only fair to offer all the goodies online so that you could peruse and purchase to your heart’s content.
And what better time to take a look than in the run up to the festive season. We promise we have something for everyone, to cater to all your loved ones – from the newly engaged or recently married couples in your lives to the history geeks, the art connoisseurs and the foodies.
All of the wonderful offerings have an Iscoyd connection or twist whether that be the Iscoyd ‘smell’ that so many of you compliment us on or an aesthetic nod to the House’s history. We hope that this post will provide you with an insight into each of the items that we have available and explain a little bit more about how and why we have curated our collection.
Let’s get started…
First up has to be our Iscoyd Park champagne. Available as a single bottle (collection only) or in a box of six, the Iscoyd vintage has been lovingly created in partnership with the family run Champagne house Marie Copinet. Marie-Laure Copinet has magically fused her Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes to produce the alchemy that is the Iscoyd Park champagne. Perfect for toasting New Year’s Eve or even a special anniversary, we promise that this vintage will not disappoint.
Staying on the liquor theme, we are also proud to offer a bespoke package in collaboration with Three Wrens Gin. Three Wrens Gin is a local independent business based in Cheshire and owners Nick and Lisa actually married here at Iscoyd in 2018. Opt for the trio of gins which includes the Apple Crumble gin, the Rhubarb edition and finally the Iscoyd special edition in a lemon verbena and rose flavour. All three are equally delightful but we reserve a special place in our hearts for the Iscoyd Edition because the lemon verbena and rose petals are taken directly from the estate. Alternatively for the G&T lover, take a look at our Hamper that we have designed for the Gin afficionados in your life…
We are also really excited to be able to offer for sale some prints of our favourite paintings of Iscoyd, each one painted by members of the Godsal family; the present Phil Godsal, his great, great, great grandfather and the family cousin Hugh Buchanan.
Each painting can be seen hung at Iscoyd. They all recapture the spirit of the house and grounds and would make a lovely memory of someone’s special day at Iscoyd Park. All of the prints are giclee prints on 310gsm Archival William Turner Paper.
They are available as a standalone print or with a white wooden frame supplied ready to hang at home. The prints date to paintings as far back as 1881 and include the following:
VIEW OF ISCOYD FROM GREAT OAK BY PHILIP T GODSAL 1883
ISCOYD TODAY BY HUGH BUCHANAN 1991
DEER IN THE PARK BY PHILIP T GODSAL 1881
ISCOYD SKETCH BY PHIL L GODSAL 2019
Please note that our framed prints are professionally framed to order and and as such have a five working day lead time. All orders placed after 2pm will be processed the following working day. Our current working hours are Mon – Fri, 9am – 5pm.
Staying on the historical theme, we are also very proud to present the book ‘Coachmaker; The Life and Times of Philip Godsal 1747-1826’ which tells the story of how Philip Godsal made his fortune and enabled the family to purchase Iscoyd Park. It’s a fascinating read and really gives some fascinating historical context to the house and gardens as you see them today. A perfect gift for the history buff in your family!
So you’ve snapped up the champagne to accompany your Christmas lunch but you’ll be needing one of our aprons to cook the dinner in! Fashionably styled by Iscoyd owner Phil in the photo above, this super sturdy cotton canvas apron has been designed by the talented Shropshire based company Risdon and Risdon for both men and women. Made from a sturdy, stone washed 10oz cotton canvas, the apron sports full grain leather straps that are held in place with smart screw effect poppers making them easily removable for washing. There are three large front pockets for extra storage and of course the familiar Iscoyd Park logo on the front. The apron comes in three colours; pink, grey and black – we have a feeling you may want all three!
And last but no means least, for those looking for a bit of luxury, we’re proud to present a mixture of home and beauty hampers. Whether you’re looking to gift the perfect night’s sleep (perhaps for those with newborns…) or a little bit of Iscoyd Love, our hampers boast a mixture of Neom and Iscoyd goodies, champagne, chocolates, Branche D’Olive pillow mists, the famous Iscoyd scent in the form of a Neom candle and silk eye masks.
Hopefully this will have given you a spot of inspiration for your Christmas gift list. If you’re simply not sure what to choose then there is always our Iscoyd Park gift voucher so that your chosen recipient can select a present or even an experience – such as a supper club event – for themselves. We can’t wait to see what you’ll choose!
