What made you choose Iscoyd Park for your wedding venue?
I actually work in the industry and came across Iscoyd around 10 years ago when I first started in events, and I just fell in love! I knew that if I was ever lucky enough to get married, Iscoyd was going to be THE venue. Naturally, after we got engaged we went to visit a few others, but nothing compared to the feeling we had when we first walked into Iscoyd!
The exclusivity, the decor, the history, the rooms, the super friendly team, it ticked every box!
What was your favourite part of your wedding day?
I think my favourite part was the wedding breakfast and speeches. There’s just something special about sitting next to your new husband, in a room full of all of the people you both love, taking it all in and reminiscing over the fact that you just got married!
The speeches, I found to be a very special part of the day, we had been together 10 years so there were lots of stories and memories shared. Our dog Seve was also able to join us for some lovely family photos and I will cherish them forever! So glad he got to be part of our special day.
Tell us a little bit about your wedding theme.
Although we married on 30th December, the theme was very much New Year’s Eve Glam with a touch of Festive, I love Christmas and it was still December after all!
We went very much down the theme of fairy lights, Christmas trees, candles, greens, whites and browns. Jack works in the hospitality industry, so we personalised a lot of the bar elements including drinks stirrers, bar mats and bespoke his, hers and our dogs cocktails to reflect the New Year’s Eve Glam theme.
The Outfits; Who did you wear? What did your bridal party wear?
My dress was Millanova from
J&J Designs in Staffordshire. The minute I saw the dress online I knew it was mine so booked in for the trunk show whilst it was in the UK and bought it there and then!
My sisters were my bridesmaids and they were some beautiful oyster coloured dresses from
Six Stories!
Jack wore a custom made green velvet tuxedo and our groomsmen and page boys had black velvet tuxedos to match!
The Flowers; Tell us some more about your blooms.
I wanted a bouquet that would contrast with my ivory dress so we included pinecones and lots of green foliage along with white roses and dried bunny tails.
I bought most of the other decor myself but the beautiful flowers in all of the vases, in our button holes and corsages and our insane flower cloud above our top table, we beautifully created by the incredibly talented Hannah at the
Secret Florist. Hannah not only crafted all of our fresh flowers, she also took all of my decor and crazy ideas and made our wedding look as beautiful as it did, just incredible!
The Photography; Who were your photographers and why did you choose them?
The photography we went with
Patrick Partridge, I came across him on Instagram after he’d shot another New Year’s Eve wedding and absolutely loved his style! We had a call with him and got on like a house on fire. We opted to have two photographers as we wanted Jack’s morning to be captured too.
For video we’re very lucky that one of our best friends is the fabulous
Richardson Video, so that was a no brainer! He tells a wedding day story amazingly, and both Rob and Patrick, got our laid-back, not so serious vibes and just captured our day perfectly with no stress or pressure!
The Evening; Give us the lowdown on entertainment.
The evening was pretty wild! We did a private champagne tower before heading outside for a sparkler line. Then it was onto our main surprise for the evening which was our double ice luge, shots were flowing all night!
The Collective Band then kick started our party and when I tell you they’re insane, I’m not lying. They are the one thing everyone mentions to me when we reminisce about our wedding! The dancefloor was always full, even during the dance off! We switched from band to DJ and just danced the night away.
Words of Wedding Wisdom?
On the day, take lots of little moments with your partner to really take it all in, because people aren’t lying when they say it goes super fast and you want to look back now and you spent lots of time with your partner on your special day together.
On the run up to, don’t let the planning take over your life or stress you out, enjoy it. Wedding blues are real and if you fill every evening and every bit of spare time with planning, it makes it 10 times harder when it’s all over. One final thing I’d say, make a date night of everything that follows, the night after, the first valentines, your video, your photographs, allow yourself to keep reliving it together!
