We’d made a list of impressive venues in the surrounding area and had a day where I went to check some out (video calling Mike). I got to the Garden Room (which was the room we got married in) and The Book of Love (the song I walked down the aisle to) was playing in the background. As I walked down the aisle of the room, I got very emotional, and I just knew that this was the place I wanted us to get married. It is such a beautiful setting for a wedding both indoors and outdoors.
There were so many amazing parts of our wedding day, so this is such a hard question! But it’s probably the moment that we walked into our wedding breakfast after being announced as Mr and Mrs Bath. Walking into that room, surrounded by our loved ones, and seeing all our visions turned into reality, really was the best feeling ever!
Our wedding had multiple themes to it. We wanted to incorporate our love of music into the day, so we chose the names of bands we’d seen live together as table names, along with our background music being songs from those bands. We had a pastel theme throughout which ran through into bridesmaids’ outfits, flowers, and wedding stationary. I also absolutely love pearls (my birth stone) so we aimed for a pearl infused wedding by incorporating them into a few things, such as jewellery, wedding stationery, my veil and the bridesmaids’ hair accessories.
My wedding dress and veil was Justin Alexander, and my bridesmaids wore Ghost dresses in pink, lilac, yellow, green, and blue.
Our florist was Red Floral Architecture, who we cannot recommend more, the flower arrangements that they designed were a work of art. They were so great with communication; we had a few calls where we bounced ideas off one another and the results were spectacular. Our wedding was at the start of spring, so we wanted a real feeling of spring, we wanted pastel colours and most importantly I wanted to incorporate the national flowers from my heritage – Jasmine for Pakistan, Heather for Norway, and Rose for England.
Nesta Lloyd was our wedding photographer. She is amazing at what she does, we love her photography style. She has such a calming presence, and I think that’s how she manages to get such authentic pictures of the day. We didn’t want to feel posed as neither of us are that comfortable with having our photos taken, but as you can see from our photos, we weren’t uncomfortable at any point, and we now have beautiful wedding photos to cherish forever.
Mike chose an awesome wedding band called The New Ventures via Dirtbag Entertainment. The music was super important to us and these guys absolutely smashed it. Everyone was up on the dance floor having a great time.
Our words of wedding wisdom would be not to get caught up in small things going wrong. Nobody will notice other than you; your guests are there to celebrate your love, all they truly require is your presence, good food, drinks, and some great music. Try to enjoy every moment as the day will be over before you know it!
