Michael is originally from Shropshire, and as we’re now Manchester based, geographically it worked well for us. When we saw Iscoyd, I fell in love with the decor, each room has been so beautifully decorated. It has the grandeur that you’d want for a wedding venue, but also a wonderful homely feel. Also, and perhaps most importantly, the bar and it’s proximity to the dance floor was very important to us- I could envision my girls on that dance floor straight away!
This is an impossible question to answer! If I had to choose one moment it would be the moment I walked into St Mary’s Church. It’s a beautiful building, but seeing it lit by the winter sunshine, filled with our loved ones and Michael at the end of the aisle is a moment I will never forget. I’ve never known a sense of joy like it.
Our photographers were Inverve. They have actually done three friends weddings prior to my own, I was a bridesmaid at two of them, so saw first hand how incredible they are behind the scenes. I didn’t need to look anywhere else when it came to my own day. We’ve had a little highlights video already and I am so thrilled with what they’ve produced!
The evening entertainment was SO important to us. We really wanted to set the tone for the night ahead, so we asked Jordan Brown to play an acoustic set for us after the speeches. He snuck in a few festive songs which had everyone standing up and dancing through desert. It was a delight to see! Then we had Jonny Ross Music, DJ & Sax with Danny and Nick, and the dance floor was full all night. They were amazing and better than I could have ever hoped for!
Wedding wisdom; Put yourself (and your husband to be) first, it’s your day- easier said than done, I know! Second. Have a schedule for the morning, make sure everyone knows when they’re in hair and make up- and aim to be ready an hour before you need to be. Time flies!! And if you’re me, make sure there’s Westlife playing in the background; I am sure this is the reason I stayed so calm!
