Honestly? Every moment exceeded our expectations. From staying at Iscoyd Cottage the night before, to saying a very tearful goodbye to Chelcie and Ffi the morning after – it was the most magical couple of days. Chelcie was our wedding coordinator and during the entire lead up, nothing was too much trouble and on the day, she expertly whisked us through the day without a hitch! If we had to choose absolute stand-out points, we’d say the church service as it was such a joyous, funny, heartfelt service and everyone was (and still is!) talking about how amazing Rev. Veronica was.
Seeing everyone with a glass in hand, with Nero String Quartet playing in the sunshine at the drinks reception was such an amazing part of our day. We’d spoken about how excited we were for the moment in the lead up to the wedding so it was so lovely to stand on the steps overlooking the gardens and seeing all of our favourite people there having such a good time. Finally seeing the Coach House adorned with all of our AMAZING flowers was actually outrageous; we remember saying to each other how Pretty Pricks absolutely nailed the theme, the vibe and how much they exceeded our expectations!
We loved the wedding breakfast, the staff were so friendly and professional and the food was absolutely to die for! Our first dance, having a boogie to the band and snaps in Birdie, the photobooth! were all standout memories too. We truly had the best day of our lives.
Our theme was ‘an assault on the senses’ ha! We really wanted a laid-back vibe: fun, colour and JOY and all of our suppliers seriously understood the assignment!
My dress and veil were Casablanca Bridal from The Dressing Rooms, my shoes were Rainbow Club and jewellery was Lily & Roo!
Matt’s suit was custom-made by Colmore Row Tailors!
The bridesmaids wore dresses from Maids to Measure and the groomsmen were in suits from Moss Bros!
Our flowers were honestly incredible. They tied everything together and our florists Amy and Mel who collectively are Pretty Pricks (the most amazing company name ever) took our inspiration pictures from Pinterest and completely out-did them with their creativity and artistry. We asked Amy and Mel if we could have colourful summer flowers and could we please have them everywhere!! So they dressed the staircase with the most beautiful cascade of summer blooms and they created a flower cloud above the top table in the Coach House.
We asked for juicy fruits like oranges and grapefruit halves to go along the tables alongside cute little vases full of colourful flowers and candles which looked so amazing. Both my and the bridesmaids’ bouquets were HUGE and completely gorgeous: beautiful, bright blooms that are still being talked about two months on! Matt’s buttonhole matched my bouquet perfectly and the groomsmen and our mums had buttonholes and corsages to match the maids’ flowers! The flowers were definitely a stand-out and we couldn’t have asked for anything better than the majesty Pretty Pricks delivered!
Hannah Hall-Beddoes – photography extraordinaire! Hannah shot my cousin’s wedding back in 2018. She was such a funny, calming influence on the day and the photos of her wedding were so amazing that we knew we had to book her! Hannah’s photography style was perfect for us because she caught the belly laughs, tears and moments that we had no idea were happening but SO glad we have photographic evidence of it ha! She captured our day to a T from start to finish and looking through the pictures is such a treat because it really is like reliving the day. They exude the love and happiness we felt on our wedding day and they’re images that we will treasure forever.
We hired The Wandering Wings, who were amazing! They were so much fun and played our first dance song (Sweet Disposition) perfectly! They provided the most upbeat wedding soundtrack which had everyone on the dance floor! Memories are slightly hazy by this point but we had the most fun dancing the night away together!
We are so glad that we planned everything together. Every detail and every decision was made by both of us and it honestly made seeing everything on the day of the wedding so much more fun because we’d shared the planning process with each other. We loved walking around Iscoyd talking about how much we loved planning the wedding and how amazing it was that everything came together so perfectly.
