I’d actually seen Iscoyd on Instagram years ago on the ‘explore’ page. I probably clicked on it just as I love period properties but then after seeing it was a wedding venue I put it in the memory bank for later down the line. When it came to being engaged and starting wedding planning it was actually the easiest choice out of the many we had to make. We came to visit pre Christmas as I was working away over the open day…we both loved it. We only went to view one other venue and that was just to make sure we were completely sure Iscoyd was the one and it confirmed it. Easiest choice of the whole wedding!
I didn’t have one! Or I thought I didn’t. I just wanted something timeless that I hopefully wouldn’t look back on and feel like it had dated too much. A couple of people said they felt like they were in Bridgerton and I thought yep I’ll take that.
We wanted to have live music so picked a band we’d seen on a night out that we really enjoyed and felt was our kind of music/covers called Retrospekt. Lucie Meiselle the lead singer also sang throughout the day accompanied by a guitarist and covered songs for us that we wanted forus that we wanted for our first dance and ceremony song that we absolutely loved. One of the band also dj’ed in-between and at the end of the night to fill in any gaps.
Don’t let small details take up your time; no one notices them not even you on the day. Eat all the food, enjoy your chosen wine, dance to your band, have a slice of your cake!! The day flies by and sometimes you can miss some of those amazing things that you took so long to decide on.
