Iscoyd was the first venue we saw. We more or less knew it was the one as soon as we turned into the driveway.
That was only confirmed when we got inside. The spaces. The style. The finishes. The feeling. Between the beauty of the building and the character of the rooms, we were all in straight away.
The thing that stays with us both is how Iscoyd is so exclusive and luxurious, but instantly makes you feel welcome.
The whole Iscoyd crew has to take a lot of credit for this. We were immediately made to feel like part of the family. The friendliness and sincerity of the team was like nowhere else.
Everything has been finished to such a high standard, but it still feels like a home. It feels loved. Despite the scale of the house and grounds, it gives you the intimate, romantic feeling a wedding venue should.
We felt like we couldn’t be in nicer, safer hands than at Iscoyd. It turns out we were right.
It’s hard to choose, but something that sticks out for us both was the lovely moment of calm right after the ceremony.
When we walked up from the garden room and were whisked away by Chelcie, our wedding manager, for our first glass of champagne as husband and wife.
It was a wonderful little moment—all to ourselves.
Chelcie made this and all our other favourite parts of the day possible. She’s an absolute superstar.
The words we ended up coming back to throughout the planning of our wedding were elegant, chic and stylish. Romantic, but real.
We had a colour scheme of soft pinks, peaches and whites. We used this in everything from our invites to our decoration. We also tried to balance flourishes of flowers, bows and candles with letting the venue speak for itself.
While not to do with the styling, we also just kept asking ourselves: “How do we make sure we all have the best possible time?”
We’re happy to say we pulled this off in our own way.
I wore a dress, veil and organza blouse by Harriette Gordon, via Amare Bride.
I always knew I wanted a sleek silk gown, but the added volume and delicate feminine details of the blouse gave it that extra special touch. It really felt like my dress.
I also ended up finding the most incredible pair of Manolos with tiny silk bows on that complemented my dress so perfectly.
My maid of honour wore a satin pink dress from ASOS, but we altered the back of the dress and the neckline to mirror the bow on my dress. She looked stunning.
The groom and his party all wore tuxedos from Moss.
We decided to go relatively big on the flowers, while keeping things understated. We felt the house didn’t need much in terms of quantity, just flourishes to add our own touch.
We worked with Luna Bloom and everything was just spot on, from the bouquets to the staircase and those wonderful hanging clouds. They were beyond our expectations.
The stunning peach Colibri poppies from the bridal bouquet are our new favourite flower. They will always remind us of the day.
Our photographer was Agnes Black, and we are absolutely delighted with her work.
Natalie came recommended after a long search for the right photographer and we immediately fell for her photos. The editorial, timeless yet candid look was exactly what we were after. The feeling of movement, intimacy and style.
Another reason we liked Natalie was her eye for the venue itself. She came through with lots of detail shots of Iscoyd, from the architecture and gardens to the decor. When we spoke, it was clear she also has a wicked personality with a great sense of humour.
We were able to leave her to do her thing on the day as we were so confident she’d get shots we’d love. The preview we got the next day blew our mind. The full album is everything we could have ever wished for.
We booked Danny and Nick as our DJ and sax dream team, through Jonny Ross Music. They got the party started and kept the energy up all evening. We had the best time dancing the night away with our spicy margs in hand.
We also can’t thank Nero String Quartet enough for the beautiful music during our ceremony and drinks reception. They even took requests from some of our guests.
After mentioning our favourite moment earlier, we have to echo the usual advice to take time for yourself as a couple on your wedding day.
Other than that, our advice would be to not worry about the things you can’t control.
We had to go with the flow a few times. We wanted sun, but ended up getting drizzle. But you know what? It didn’t dampen our day at all. If anything, it kept our group together indoors and we still got outdoor photos we’re obsessed with.
Just don’t believe the rumours that burying a sausage will bring you good weather (if you don’t know, you will).
