For those of you reading this who are not already aware, we are thrilled to say that it is now possible to come and stay on Iscoyd’s estate for short-term holidays or just a night or two. Last month we announced the launch of our Iscoyd Cottage and the Showman’s Wagon on Airbnb; you can read all about it in our blog post by following this link.
We are now fully ensconced in the Autumnal season. Granted we have been blessed with beautiful sunshine this September, that at times feels distinctly summery in temperature but the mornings are shrouded in mist that takes a couple of hours to dissipate and we’ve been reaching for blankets and a spot closer to the open fires lit throughout the house in the evenings as dusk draws in.
We’re not complaining mind. Every season brings its own flavour and personality that we choose to embrace wholeheartedly. In fact we relish the next chapter in the year and with Autumn we have so much to look forward to. Harvest festivals, the kaleidoscope of colours that play in the trees throughout the grounds, a smattering of frosts, the smell of the wood burning in the open hearths, and of course Halloween and Fireworks Night.
Halloween this year, falls for the majority, within the half term break at school. For many of you with children in the family (be they your own or belonging to wider family members), you’ll know that this time of year is relished by little and big kids alike. We know that some families choose to go away at this time of year or to take a short break here in the UK.
As it stands, both the Showman’s Wagon (pictured below) and the Iscoyd Cottage are available to book for a stay during the Half Term week. If it’s just the two of you, then our intimate and very private Showman’s Wagon is for you. Nestled in the gardens of Iscoyd Park, this unique retreat offers breathtaking views of Iscoyd’s grounds, making it the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The wagon has everything you might need for your special trip away with its woodburning stove, incredibly comfortable bed (even if we do say so ourselves) and bathroom. Watch the sun set by the lake with a bottle of Iscoyd champagne and explore the grounds which are beautiful in all seasons.
We can’t wait to welcome you! Follow this link for our current availability.
If there’s more of you limbering up for a Halloween adventure then the The Iscoyd Cottage is a beautiful half-timbered cottage situated at the edge of the park, a few minutes drive from the main house that can accommodate up to ten guests. The house has 4 double bedrooms each with its own ensuite, a stunning kitchen and dining room, sitting room with log burning stove and conservatory. The cottage is set within a beautiful and private garden complete with a wood fired hot tub.
There is a 5th double bedroom next to the house in “the cabin” with its own bathroom and sitting room. This is a truly unique and beautiful place and all nestled within the wider Iscoyd Estate, surrounded by beautiful landscapes in secluded countryside.
For details on how to book and to see availability for the cottage, please follow this link.
Whilst we’re not hosting any specific Halloween events here at the house this year, the local area is bursting with wonderful events and things to do for all ages. We would love for you to stay with us here either in the cottage or in the Wagon and use these beautiful spaces as a base for exploring the range of fantastic spooky events in the surrounding vicinity. We have included a small list of events taking place at the end of October to help you choose.
