As soon as we arrived at Iscoyd Park, drove up to the house and saw the sheep in the fields, we immediately loved it. The house is grand but still feels homely and cosy, there are so many spaces available to use and the decor in every single room is beautiful. We live in Surrey so aren’t local, so the fact that we had the cottage to stay in the night before and enough accommodation for all of our families to stay over the night of the wedding was really important for us.
We also have to mention the incredible food (can we have some more Parmesan and Brie doughnuts?) and give a shout out to our wedding manager Chelcie who made the whole planning process stress-free and could not have been more helpful on the day. I’m not sure helping to button up the bride’s dress is on her job description but she was more than happy to help!
We honestly could not choose one moment! Getting ready with our bridesmaids and groomsmen in the morning was such a special part of the day, and that was before we’d even seen each other! Seeing all of our friends and family in one place and getting to chat to everyone during the drinks reception was so lovely, not to mention the impromptu dancing and singing that broke out led by our amazing singer Daisy! The meal, the speeches, the first dance… it was all special in its own way and we loved every second.
Sam’s suit and shoes were both from Boss – apparently when he tried it on for the first time he felt like James Bond so the budget went out the window! The groomsmen suits were from M&S. My dress was by Caroline Castigliano bought from White Lace and Butterflies Bridal Boutique along with the veil which was by Savin London, and my shoes were by Loeffler Randall. I knew I wanted the bridesmaids to have different dresses and found these lovely ones from Maids to Measure in forest green which went perfectly with our theme.
Sam loves gardening and flowers so choosing our florist and which flowers we wanted to use was really important to us (we even named our tables after the flowers that featured in our bouquet). Having looked at other florists that had worked at Iscoyd before, we loved the look of Wild Floral Design so went to visit them at their shop in Chester. Our brief was to keep things neutral and fit in with our colour scheme of whites, greens and pinks and to fill the white spaces in the house as much as possible.
They really made our visions come to life, all the flowers in the ceremony room and the marquee were beautiful and exactly what we wanted! Small details like the coloured candles in the marquee really brought everything together. The bouquets and buttonholes featured classic spring flowers and were simple, elegant and perfect for our day.
One of my friends had used both Lauren (Lauren Juliette, our photographer) and John (John Taylor, videographer) so they both came highly recommended and we loved the look of their work on social media. It was also important to us to find people that had worked at Iscoyd before so they would know the best places to take some pics!
We’ve had all of our photos back and our highlights video and we cannot recommend Lauren and John enough, they truly captured the emotion of the day and the fun we had, I don’t think there are any photos where we’re not grinning! We both thought we would be nervous in front of the camera but Lauren and John made us feel so comfortable and within about 5 minutes we were both posing and giving some sass!
Music is a big part of our lives and we knew we wanted live entertainment throughout the day; we had Ben Clarke – The Wedding Pianist – playing piano for our ceremony and wedding breakfast, Daisy Kate (an acoustic guitarist and singer) performed for our drinks reception, and in the evening we had a DJ and live saxophonist and drummer which was amazing. The great thing about Iscoyd is that the bar in the evening is on the dance floor, so people don’t have to leave the music when they need a drink and can keep dancing while they’re being served!
