Laura & Richard 23/09/23
What made you choose Iscoyd Park for your wedding venue?
Iscoyd was the first venue we visited and we knew from that moment it was the venue for us. It has character in every single room and we really liked the rustic elements combined with country estate glamour. There’s just so many different spaces to make your own and we are in love with the family feel Iscoyd has, especially the Iscoyd dogs (who took a shine to Richard)! Above all though, the service is impeccable, the team go above and beyond to make your day so special and unique. Kate is a superstar! All of our guests have commented on how amazing the venue was!
What was your favourite part of your wedding day?
Richard’s favourite part of the day was getting ready with his groomsmen in the library and showing them around Iscoyd for the first time – cup of tea in hand. Plus, seeing
Laura for the first time, walking down the aisle to the song he used to play for her on his guitar.
Laura’s favourite part of the day was seeing her guests arrive in the gardens below (they were having welcome drinks in the sun), having a toast with some
Iscoyd champagne and watching her vision for the day coming together. Oh and seeing the garden room and marquee all dressed up for the first time by our stylist
Fior Collective and the Iscoyd team really did make our dreams a reality!
Tell us a little bit about your wedding theme.
Our wedding theme was autumnal luxe, a modern but classic aesthetic with earthy textures and neutral tones, with a pop of warmth from toffee roses and copper bridesmaid dresses. We wanted to compliment the Iscoyd backdrop and make the most of the season, our favourite!
But above all, we wanted a fun day filled with lots of nice food and drinks for our guests to enjoy on a perfect sunny Autumn day. Iscoyd really delivered with the food – a beautiful meal which tasted as good as it looked. The espresso martinis and canapés were also a big hit!
The Outfits; Who did you wear? What did your bridal party wear?
Richard wore a dinner suit from Boss and his groomsmen were matching in black tie. We felt that this was a timeless and classic look and matched Iscoyd’s aesthetic well.
Laura wore a sleek bardot
Suzanne Neville dress, to keep with her usual style and feel like the best version of herself on the day. The bridesmaids were in mixed satin dresses of champagne and copper colours, from the Australian designer
Shona Joy.
Laura used to live in Australia and loves the chic Australian wedding vibe!
The Flowers; Tell us some more about your blooms.
Flowers were a big part of our day and our florist –
Sassflower – was the first supplier that we booked. We love fresh flowers and wanted the main Iscoyd spaces to be filled with them. We went for window sill clouds in the garden room, hanging installations in the marquee room and mixed pots and stems across our guest tables. We had spray roses, dahlias, hydrangeas and orchids- all so beautiful.
We actually still have our flowers (now dried) on display in the windowsills of our house. We are obsessed with them! We also loved the florals from the Iscoyd team which were displayed across the venue – in the bridal cottage, the bridal suite and the drawing room. A dream, coupled with all of the gorgeous candles!
The Photography; Who were your photographers and why did you choose them?
Our photographers were
Alex Wysocki (digital) and
Adam Crocker (film). We couldn’t be more pleased here – every single image has blown us away. They captured every element of our day to perfection and our album has a great mix of candid photos, detail shots and some gorgeous portraits!
What we loved is how much we enjoyed their company on the day, they really put us at ease having our photos taken and made it so much fun! We chose our photographers based mainly on their style of photography (editorial, arty and romantic but with personality and emotion). But we also needed people we could spend all day with! Our videographer
Freyafilmco made it the perfect team.
The Evening; Give us the lowdown on entertainment.
We had a DJ and Sax for our evening entertainment – we really wanted to just party with our guests! We had seen the
Jonny Ross team at an Iscoyd Open Day and loved the energy they have! They played great songs all night and the dance floor was full! We had dance offs, shoulder dancing and Richard cracked out his favourite move ‘the Cossack’ – think mail room scene in the film Elf!
Birdie Photo Booth was some fun for all the family! We also had live music in the day –
Nero String Quartet for our ceremony and a guitarist for our drinks reception (Stephen Michaels).
Words of Wedding Wisdom?
Take a moment, step back and take it all in! During the wedding breakfast we stopped, sat there and looked around at the room, appreciating everybody and everything there. It really is the most special day but it goes by so quickly! Enjoy every single minute and don’t stress the small stuff, it really doesn’t matter on the big day!
