January marked the culmination of a month’s worth of Open Events held here at Iscoyd Park. We kicked off 2024 with some mini Open Days and ended the month with our Big Weekender supported by a raft of truly wonderful suppliers who we feel so lucky to be able to work with.
We shared some sneak peeks recently but with so much going on and with so much talent on offer, we wanted to share a more comprehensive recap of what went on during the events and to shine the spotlight on the talented individuals that came along and supported us. We continue to be blown away by the creativity of the wedding suppliers that come and support us on our Open Days and their interpretation of the spaces – both inside and outside – at Iscoyd.
Special thanks must go to Lisa Webb Photography, Claire Penn Photography and Nesta Lloyd Photography who captured the action for us in the images below.
We were delighted to invite so many of you to our Open House events and wanted to take a moment to thank you so much for joining us; we hope you had as much fun as we did!
It’s difficult to know where to begin? Do we start with the blue and silver toned set-ups in the Coach House or do we discuss the rustic yellow arrangements in the Garden Room. Do we wax lyrical over the wonderful confectionery delights or go gooey for the styling in the Pigeon House?
Shall we start with the ridiculously talented Mat from Red Floral who sprinkled his magic over our marquee and created a coral, pink and red toned set up that flowed throughout the decor from the flowers and down into the table places even into the colour palette of the dining candles. A mixture of flower centrepieces could be found from tall arrangements on tables culminating in a huge display hanging from the ceiling of the marquee. As always, the result was breathtaking yet created with sustainability in mind, using lots of dried flowers throughout.
Against the backdrop of Mat’s creations, we also had the fun CaptureIt Photobooth, that the Iscoyd Team couldn’t help trying out for themselves as well as the amazing Neon backdrops from The Word Is Love which are always a hit with Iscoyd couples…and us too!
Over in the Coach House, we enjoyed the talents of Katie from Unique Your Wedding who not only dressed the Coach House in bedazzling mirror balls and blue and silvery toned table settings but also created a frothy fairytale vision for us in the Pigeon House outside. We were treated to a pink and white – dare we say a Valentine’s inspired – scheme in our licenced outdoor ceremony space and a super fun mirrorball, candlelit and delicate flower set up in the Coach House. Both were so stylish yet completely different interpretations of the spaces that we’ve not seen before and added to the beauty of Iscoyd’s backdrops.
Nicola’s (from Boutique Bakery) beautiful cakes sat perfectly amongst the flowers in the Coach House and completely blew us away; you can see more of her fabulous designs over on her website. We couldn’t believe how lifelike the sugar flowers and foliage were which you can see in the images above and below. We adored both the Springlike and Autumnal interpretations to tie in with the season that a couple may choose to marry in.
With a nod to the upcoming Chinese New Year of the Dragon, we decided on a Noodle Bar pop-up in the Coach House where couples could help themselves to delicious food as they toured the house and gardens. Drinks were ‘on hand’ (see what we did there) via our living greenery wall which is always a smash hit with guests.
In other areas of the house, the most talented videographers, musicians and photographers were ready and waiting to talk you through your vision for your wedding day. We had the wonderful Shutterbox Films, Nesta Lloyd Photography , Lisa Webb Photography, Harvey Films and Claire Penn Photography all showcasing their truly phenomenal work around the house.
Birdie Camper Van, had the sweetest set up outside with their Photo Booth camper van, candy cane striped parasol and relaxing deckchair that we couldn’t help trying out ‘just to check on the comfort factor’ before having a few team photos in the back of Birdie. Kitty – Birdie’s owner – is a ray of sunshine and we always look forward to seeing her when couples book Birdie for their wedding day. We won’t lie – the soft pink tones look fantastic next to our minty green Pizza Van ‘Philomena’ when they’re parked up next to each other. On this occasion Philomena had gone off for a makeover but Birdie along with all of Kitty’s fabulous props more than stole the show despite Philomena’s absence.
Elsewhere in the house, the front door and communal spaces of Iscoyd were festooned with foliage and fancy florals. Lashings of colour came from Ranunculus placed in the hallways and libraries and we took the opportunity to decorate the front of Iscoyd with foliage fit for the time of year accompanied by candles. Whilst Philomena may have been out of action, our talented culinary team cooked up a storm instead out of the back of our trusty Land Rover.
Resident floral extraordinaire Charlie who has taken over the arrangement of the House flowers from Selina (you can read more here) turned her hand to the decor in the Garden Room where our civil ceremonies take place. The Garden Room is characterised by the arched windows and Portland stone floor so that it feels almost church-like in feel. The blank canvas design of the room lends itself perfectly to a myriad of decorative schemes; Charlie created a truly captivating set-up in here with rustic, dried flowers using pops of yellow and orange in both the altarpiece and pew ends.
Jonny Ross Music serenaded us in the Library accompanied by Saxophone, Nero String Quartet performed rousing classical pieces in the Garden Room and we were utterly spoilt by the quality and variety in entertainment throughout Iscoyd.
For grooms looking for a splash of inspiration we had the sartorial experts Crichton Bespoke who showcased a splendid range of truly stylish suits and three piece outfits in our Library. We thought the velvet smoking jacket with pink lapels was a stroke of genius and looked very much at home in the space it was displayed in. Perfect for keeping warm despite the cold temperatures and cloudy skies outside.
And there we have it, all that remains to be said is a special thanks again to the following suppliers who helped bring the party to our Open Day events and of course to those visitors who joined us.
