As soon as we stepped in to view the venue, the staff were all so welcoming and we felt like we had already become a part of the Iscoyd family! The venue ticked so many boxes for us both, especially having so many gorgeous indoor and outdoor spaces, making it UK-weatherproof!
There are too many good parts to pick one! Our top two would be our ceremony in the beautiful garden room and seeing each other when walking down the aisle. We also loved our crazy dance entrance into the wedding reception, with all our friends and family going mad for us!
We had a black tie wedding with a classic green and white colour scheme. Since we have Greek and Chinese heritages, we tried to incorporate this into the day as much as possible. From the stationery with Greek and Chinese symbols, edible favours from China, to themed evening pizzas and an unforgettable Greek dance! My (Zoe’s) Dad designed all of the wedding stationery to suit our theme, which was a real personal touch to bring everything together!
Zoe: After many (many) dress shops, I found my dream Jane Hill dress from Isabella’s Closet in Liverpool. The boutique is run by a mother and daughter who are the loveliest people, and they made the experience amazing despite my indecisiveness! I loved how the dress design was a little different but also classic, and fell in love with the back detailing. Our gorgeous bridesmaids wore the new Olive green shade from Maids to Measure…which was a bit of a last minute risk since we waited for the new colour to be released not long before the wedding day!
We had the lovely Chloe from White Wysteria as our florist. She was such a dream to work with and really listened to our ideas! We chose a minimalistic green and white theme, using olive branches and orchids to incorporate our Greek and Chinese heritages. We had simplistic foliage-heavy arrangements in the garden room (since we didn’t feel that gorgeous room needed dressing up much!). Myself and the bridesmaids had all-white bouquets, and our long tables were filled with bud vases of white flowers below a mixed foliage hanging installation.
We chose Sarah and Paul from Harvey Films for our photography and videography. We know that they are popular suppliers with the venue and we can see why! They were so engaged in the whole process of getting to know us and what was important to us both on our wedding day. They are such a genuinely lovely couple, and on the day they went above and beyond to ensure that all our special moments were captured. We can’t thank them enough!
We both love our music, so the evening entertainment was a very important aspect of the wedding! We kicked the night off with our first dance, which we remixed ourselves to get everyone on the dance floor. We were so happy we had Groove Allstars as our band. They were so talented and played just the right balance of soul, funk and dance floor classics!
We then suprised everyone with a Greek dance that was performed by Ding, Zoe’s dad and the groomsmen, which so many of our guests said was the highlight of the night! We also loved having Capture-It photobooth to add to the fun of the evening! It was great to look through our guestbook the next morning and be able to access all the photos digitally to share with our guests!
Some of the best advice we had before our wedding was to really enjoy the moment. The day goes by so quickly and we were so grateful to have some time to ourselves after the ceremony to enjoy some fizz before joining our friends and family again. Try not to get bogged down on the small details! The team at Iscoyd are incredible and even if something doesn’t quite go to plan on the day, what really matters is your love for each other and the people that you’re celebrating with!
