After seeing it on Instagram, it was always my first choice of wedding venue (even before we were engaged haha). Then once we went to the open day and we saw it in person, I knew nothing else could compare. We absolutely fell in love with the venue. I just loved the mixture of old and modern decor, the grounds, the space, the food; everything. It was just perfect for what we wanted.
Gosh, it goes by so quickly I feel like it’s hard to remember it! We absolutely loved seeing all our family and friends together so I think maybe the evening was my favourite; when everyone let their hair down and danced all night!
I’d say WE wanted, but we all know that the men have no idea what wedding themes even are… so I always wanted something that was a mixture between quite classic and timeless but still a modern version of that. So we went for a mixture of classic white flowers and dried foliage for the flowers and lots of neutral/minimalist style for the general decor.
My dress was made by Emma Beaumont and she was really incredible. The dress was very intricate, I think she actually said she wouldn’t ever make it again! I actually chose the dress pre Covid so I’m glad I still loved it! My bridal party wore the amazing multi-way dress from Victoria Lou Bridal who I also couldn’t recommend more!
I went for Red Floral after seeing their insane floral displays at an Iscoyd Park open day. I gave them a few Pinterest inspo photos and they just did their thing! They were the best. I wanted the bouquets quite simple and classic and then the rest of the flowers were a mixture of this style and minimal dried flowers.
Esme Whiteside was our photographer and wow, the photos were insane. She takes lots of ambient and kind of moody shots which is why I chose her, I feel it just adds something extra to the photos. We were so pleased with the photos and Esme was a delight. Then we had Papertwin as our videographers but we do have a confession to make here: we’re both too nervous to watch the wedding video to watch ourselves back… we have yet to watch it!!
Don’t rush into any plans as your ideas may change along the way. Get the basics booked then have a good think about the rest. In terms of the day itself, make sure you take plenty of time to take it in as it goes by so fast. And most importantly, make sure you assign someone to be on drink duty; I swear I must have taken one sip out of about 20 glasses before putting the drink down and losing it…
