We were delighted to meet so many of you at our Open Weekend last week and thank you so much for joining us; we hope you had as much fun as we did! For those of you who are unaware, on the 14th and 15th January we threw open our doors and invited lots of lovely couples (and some of their family and friends too!) into the house and gardens to take a look around. Whilst we cautioned that we couldn’t promise blue skies, Mother Nature played ball and gifted us the first sunshine of 2023. And what a weekend it was!
Working in collaboration with Rock My Wedding, as part of their sustainable roadshow and eco-friendly initiative Recycle My Wedding, the Open Weekend was also supported by a raft of trusted suppliers that we’ve worked so often with that we consider them to now be family! We are so incredibly grateful to all of them for the effort they invested into helping us make the weekend a success and we are honoured to be able to share their awe-inspiring talents below.
Special thanks must go to Tobiah Tayo Photography for taking all of the photos that appear in this post. Thank you so much Tobiah for taking the time to snap them for us so that we can share them here on our blog.
Where to begin…? Shall we start with the uber talented Mat from Red Floral who sprinkled his magic over our marquee and created a Black Swan infused extravaganza with a touch of Spring woven throughout the floral decor. The result was breathtaking and gave the impression of flower fireworks exploding on each of the reception tables. Mat thought sensitively about our Open Weekend’s sustainable theme and drew extensively on this using lots of dried flowers throughout the arrangements.
Against the backdrop of Mat’s creations, we had Nicola from Boutique Bakery whose beautiful cakes sat perfectly amongst the flowers and completely blew us away; you can see more of her fabulous designs over on her website. We also had the fun CaptureIt Photobooth, that the Iscoyd Team couldn’t help trying out for themselves, the amazing Neon backdrops from The Word Is Love which are always a hit with Iscoyd couples and the talented Cara from Little Papershop Designs on hand to capture all the excitement of the day for our social media. The marquee was positively brimming with energy as a result!
Mat also dressed our Coach House using florals in a bright rainbow palette which was the perfect complement to the amazing cakes made by the lovely Heather at TSP Cake which were on display for all our visitors to marvel over. We couldn’t believe how lifelike the sugar flowers and foliage were which you can see in the images above. Alongside Heather were the girls from Rock My Wedding and their sustainable initiative – Recycle My Wedding. Rock My Wedding showcased their most stylish eco-friendly solutions demonstrating how couples could have the day of their dreams without costing the earth. Alongside them were the stylish Nola Bridesmaids – a sustainable Bridesmaid dress supplier and Collette Handmade Banners who customise beautiful pieces of decor that can take pride of place in your home after your wedding is over.
Elsewhere in the main house and gardens, we enlisted the talents of Katie from Unique Your Wedding to help us dress the Pigeon House and the stairs which she did with aplomb. We were treated to a red, pink and white – dare we say a Valentine’s inspired – scheme on the stairs and a super fun mirrorball, candlelit and delicate flower set up in the Pigeon House. Both were so stylish and added to the beauty of Iscoyd’s spaces.
Culinary treats abounded throughout the weekend. Guests were welcomed with Bramble cocktails from a sip sip hurray grassy wall held aloft by mysterious hands as they walked through to the main house complete with neon signage courtesy of Sequins and Silk. For those guests wanting something sweeter, we served up hot chocolates and s’mores from the back of our trusty Defender. Canapés were served by our wonderful waiters and waitresses, pizzas were dished up fresh from the back of our Pizza Van and the Posh Dogs from the Defender went down a storm!
In other areas of the house, the most talented videographers, florists, musicians and bakers were ready and waiting to talk you through your vision for your wedding day. We had the wonderful Shutterbox Films, Helen Baly Photography, Birdie Camper Van, The Word Is Love, Tobiah Tayo Photography and more in attendance.
Jonny Ross Music serenaded us in the Library accompanied by Saxophone and Joe Seager sang his heart out in the Coach House with some acoustic tunes. Nero String Quartet performed rousing classical pieces in the Garden Room and we were utterly spoilt by the quality and variety in entertainment throughout Iscoyd.
We even had a rather wonderful Gin competition running in the Library in collaboration with Three Wrens Gin. Couples were encouraged to come up with an inventive name for their gin creation and take a snap of themselves enjoying it. The couple who chose the best name and photo won themselves a bottle of Three Wrens Gin – delicious!
All that remains to be said is that the Iscoyd team had the most wonderful weekend and we continue to be inspired by the vision and creativity of both suppliers and couples that are involved in the weddings we host here. It is really quite something to be a part of so many special days and to see Iscoyd through other peoples’ eyes; to say it keeps things fresh is an understatement! Until the next Open Day…
